It is likely that you will find sub-bottom profiling equipment onboard most of the survey vessels involved in offshore investigations. Whereas the echo sounder is designed for top-layer investigations, with high-resolution and seismic equipment for deep penetration, subbottom profiling equipment covers the area in between and provides a glance into the first ten to hundreds of metres of the sea bottom. On top of this, the sub-bottom profiler is a thankful piece of equipment when it comes to enjoying onboard discussions between hydrographer and geophysicist regarding required penetration, frequency used versus data resolution, definition of the top of the seabed and features found.
Although the principles of these analogue systems have not changed, we see further development towards refined design and specialised technology, whether in single-frequency or in chirp systems. A great number of these instruments provide data results in digital format. Data analysis and processing techniques give the opportunity to introduce bottom classification. Together with specialised geotechnical investigations, we leave the seabottom with fewer secrets every time these instruments are used out on the sea. The present survey covers types of systems, each
developed for their own specific purpose(s) and needs. Whether you need to know about the top of the seabed for accurate measurement of silt-layer thickness, or the location of boulders and

Maxcap Doppelschicht-Kondensatoren sind ein neuer elektrischer Energiespeicher mit extrem hohen Volumennutzeffekt, nahezu unbegrenzter Betriebsdauer, schneller Lade/Entlade-Fähigkeit sowie sehr geringem Leckstrom.
Im Gegensatz zu Batterien haben Maxcap DLC’s keine störenden chemischen Reaktionen. Sie können unbeschränkt geladen und entladen werden. Es gibt keinen Memoryeffekt.
Sie zeichnen sich durch eine hohe Energiedichte aus: Bis zu 5,6 F in einer 5,5 Volt-Einheit, sowie bis zu 5,0 F in einer 11-Volt-Einheit. Der Temperaturbereich geht von -25 bis +70 °C, bei der LJ & LT-Serie sogar von -40 bis +85°C.
Kanthal Maxcap DLC’s gibt es in 9 verschiedenen Ausführungen mit den Spannungen 5,5 Volt für CMOS RAMS, Mikroprozessoren, Timer etc., sowie mit 11 Volt als Backup für Relais, Stellglieder und Kleinmotoren.
Kondensatoren mit reduzierten Abmessungen, sehr kleinem ESR oder sehr geringer Selbstentladung ( low leackage current ) sind ebenso verfügbar wie eine SMD – Variante in den Spannungen 3,5 Volt und 5,5 Volt mit einer maximalen Kapazität von 0,47 F.
Da Maxcap DLC’s im Gegensatz zu Batterien keine strombegrenzenden Widerstände oder Überspannungsschutz benötigen, reduzieren sich Material – und Arbeitskosten. Bei diesen Kondensatoren besteht auch bei Kurzschluss keine Explosionsgefahr. Sie sind im Wellenbad lötbar, völlig wartungsfrei und brauchen aufgrund ihrer nahezu unbegrenzten Lebensdauer nicht ausgetauscht zu werden.
Einsatzgebiete sind Memory-Backup-Applikationen, sowie Anwendungen, die eine kurzzeitige Bereitstellung von Spitzenleistung erfordern.

Adding a Huntron® Scanner to your Tracker Model 30 system lets you access components using standard DIP clips and cables, custom cables to PCB connectors or interface to a bed-of-nails.
You can compare one component with another in real-time (64 pins max.) or use your PC to automate testing and scan up to 128 pins.
Huntron Scanners can be used with a Huntron Access Prober to provide Common line connections while the Prober is probing a PCB. This method gives you up to 128 selectable Commons to use. For example, you can connect the Scanner to a connector on a PCB mounted in the Prober using a common ribbon style cable. While the Prober is probing, any one of the lines on the connected ribbon cable can be selected as the Common reference. This would provide you true point-to-point testing capabilities.
Note: The ProTrack Scanner will be replaced by the Scanner II and/or the Scanner 31S effective 1/1/2008. This applies to commercial sales only.
Scanner II and Scaner 31S users may want to consider these Optional Accessories to enhance their test capabilities.

echnology in Multiphase Flow Metering

Technology in multiphase flow rate calibration
For many years two-phase and multi-phase flows have been common throughout the oil and gas industry. Until recently, such flows were measured by separating the flow into its constituent components in a test separator followed by conventional single phase metering techniques.
In the constant drive towards more efficient production, development has been focused away from traditional test separators towards more flexible lower cost multiphase metering. Along with these meters goes the need for periodic in-situ calibration. This has led to the development of the TRACERCO Diagnostics™ PhaseCal.
The principle of the measurement is based on the tracer dilution technique that Tracerco have been using for more than forty years. Tracerco can offer the service using either radioactive or non-radioactive tracers. In order to obtain the best quality information, each particular measurement will require subtle changes in the technique. For many years, the thought of finding diamonds in Canada was little more than a prospector’s dream. But that dream became a reality following the discovery, in the 1990s, of several world-class diamond-bearing deposits in Canada’s North.
Diamond exploration began in Canada as early as the 1960s, but major kimberlite discoveries were not made until the 1980s. In 1991, the first economic diamond deposit was discovered in the Lac de Gras area of the Northwest Territories. Canada became a diamond producer in October 1998 when the Ekati diamond mine opened about 300 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife. By April 1999, the mine had produced one million carats. By 2003, Canada had become the world’s third largest diamond producer on a value basis after Botswana and Russia.
Canadian Diamond Industry
Canada’s diamond industry has now become an industry worth in the range of $1.5–$2.0 billion with all indicators pointing to potential for future growth. Canadian diamond production in 2007 was about 17.0 million carats, compared to 13.2 million carats in 2006.
Diavik, Canada’s second diamond mine, began production in January 2003. During its projected 20-year life, average diamond production from this mine is expected at 8 million carats per year (Mct/y) and to peak at 11 million carats, representing about 6% of the world’s total supply. Ekati’s average production over its projected 20-year life is expected at 3-5 million carats a year, accounting for about 3% of world production by volume.
Snap Lake started production in early autumn 2007 and is expected to produce about 1.5 Mct/y in full production. It is located in the Northwest Territories about 220 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife, and is 100% owned by De Beers Canada. The deposit is unique in that the diamondiferous kimberlite is in the form of a dyke as opposed to the more common carrot-shaped pipe. The kimberlite to be mined over the project life is estimated at 18.3 Mt grading 1.46 ct/t.
The Victor project, Ontario's first diamond mine, began development in January 2006 and came into production in spring 2008. The Victor pipe has mineable reserves estimated at 27.4 Mt averaging 0.23 ct/t. While this ore grade is low, the value of the diamonds extracted, at about $440 per carat, is one of the highest in the world.At full capacity, the mine is expected to produce about 600 000 ct/y over a 12-year open-pit mine life.
Together with these mines, advanced mining projects (such as Gahcho Kué in the Northwest Territories, Foxtrot in Quebec, and Fort-à-la-Corne and Star in Saskatchewan) and the numerous advanced exploration projects across Canada ensure prosperous times to come for the economy of many Canadian regions.
Cutting and Polishing
Canada has a small diamond-manufacturing industry. In 2007, there were six diamond manufacturers operating across Canada located in Yellowknife (N.W.T.), Vancouver (British Columbia), and Matane (Quebec). These cutting and polishing factories employ about 150 workers. The largest of these facilities has an output of up to 1200 carats a month.
Employment
The Canadian diamond mining industry employs about 2650 people in mine operations and more than 1500 on-site workers through contractors in support industries such as maintenance, catering, transport, etc. Aboriginal persons generally comprise 30-40% of the work forces at the mines.
Kimberley Process for Rough Diamonds
The Kimberley Process was initiated by South Africa in May 2000 to develop an international certification scheme for rough diamonds to help prevent conflict diamonds from entering legitimate markets. Conflict diamonds originate in areas controlled by rebel groups and are often used to fund military action that targets governments.
Canada was a key player in the development of this initiative and since its inception on January 1, 2003, has been a leader in the implementation of the process to control the conflict diamond trade internationally. Canada passed legislation to control the import, export and transit of rough diamonds in Canada. By participating in the Kimberley Process, Canada is doing its part to halt the devastating impact that trade in conflict diamonds is having on peace, security and sustainable development in affected countries.

- Masaüstü bilgisayar kullanırken kare ekranlara alışmışızdır. Mesela 17 inç ekranlar en yaygınıdır. Laptop firmaları ise genel olarak 15.4 inç wide ekran denilen monitör vermekteler. Şahsi fikrim laptop alırken 17 inç alın. Hem sayfalar daha güzel görünür, hem ekran yenileme sıklığı daha yükseğe çekilebilir, hem de minicik minicik yazılardan kurtulabilir, 1024×768 ekran çözünürlüğünü düzgün olarak kullanabilirsiniz… Örnek: 17.1″ WUXGA+ TFT 1920 x 1200 Yüksek Çözünürlüklü Parlak Ekran
